Initial Needs Analysis (NA) is both thorough and preliminary. It is an effective and well-established method of ascertaining detailed information on the preferences, learning experiences and styles and working needs of learners and is central to the construction of effective courses designed to meet the real needs of learners like yourself.
The NA is very much a beginning. Our experience has shown us that needs analysis is an ongoing process. However. it provides us with a detailed overview on which to build your course and gives us information which allows to include texts and topics of direct interest to you in your lessons
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire online. This should not take more than half an hour. You can do this with the assistance of one of our trainers if you wish, The questions will be about your;
· previous language learning experience, general and English for Specific Purposes (ESP),exams taken etc,
· feelings about language learning and your perception of the current state of your learning
· learning styles and dominant multiple intelligences
· understanding of linguistic terms you will need
· view of your specific needs for the language in your professional context
· intercultural competence
· overall objectives in learning English
